In-studio natural light portraits are designed to show scale, posture, and presence - the elements that can’t always be communicated in a traditional headshot. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, our studio works with actors, models and creatives throughout the Phoenix metro area.
These sessions are photographed against a clean white backdrop using diffused window light. The focus is on you, with only moderate touch-up, resulting in a natural portrait.
This offering is ideal for actors, creatives, and professionals who want clients to see more than just a close headshot.
Each session includes one look (outfit) and two professionally enhanced images.
How Natural Light Portraits Differ From Headshots
While both services are studio-based, headshots and natural light portraits serve different purposes.
Headshots are framed tightly and receive detailed, image-by-image retouching, focusing on skin tone, expression, and facial nuance. They function as your primary marketing image and carry a higher level of post-production refinement.
Natural light portraits, by contrast, are captured from a greater distance and finished with light, global enhancement rather than individual retouching. The emphasis is on overall appearance, proportion, and energy, making them best used as a supplement to a professional headshot, not a replacement.
For most clients, the strongest presentation includes both – headshots to introduce you, and natural light portraits to complete the picture.
